Creamy Alfredo Sauce Recipe: Quick and Velvety Smooth

Description: This classic Alfredo sauce is a rich, creamy delight, perfect for tossing with fettuccine or drizzling over chicken and vegetables. Made with simple ingredients, it’s an easy way to elevate any meal.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth and fully melted.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir until combined.
  6. Remove from heat. Toss with cooked pasta or use as a sauce for chicken or vegetables.
  7. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Tips:

  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, but note the sauce will be less thick.
  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp for a heartier dish.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat gently with a splash of cream.
